Alison Wallis is originally from a farm in northwest Louisiana but has lived in New Orleans since the late 1980's. She has a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and a law degree from Loyola University School of Law. After graduating law school, Alison was a prosecuting attorney with the Jefferson Parish District Attorney for over 15 years. She now handles post-conviction matters for the district court in Jefferson Parish and worked on the central staff of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. She is admitted to the bar of all courts in Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Alison became a Professional Registered Parliamentarian in 2005. She enjoys working as a parliamentarian for regular clients and for organizations meeting in New Orleans and other locations far and near. She presents many educational presentations to the public and for clients. She is always delighted to assist organizations in having productive meetings.
Alison served as President of the American Institute of Parliamentarians for three years, ending in 2015. She is a member, since founding, of the American College of Parliamentary Lawyers, and is now the Vice President. Alison served as the President of the Louisiana Association from 2007 - 2009. She has served as District Director (for the states of Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana) and in numerous other capacities within the National Association of Parliamentarians. Alison is currently serving a second term as a Director-at-Large on the NAP Board of Directors.
